The Nanjing International Biennial of Posters for Peace is an international public welfare academic event focused on creating and exhibiting posters centered around peace.
Theme
History Illuminates the Future
The theme is provided for creative reference only and will not be used for categorization during the review process. All posters featuring a peace-related theme are acceptable.
Candidates
Candidates: Professional designers, students, faculty members, artists and design institutions worldwide are welcome to participate.
Time: June 10, 2025 –July 30, 2025
Deadline: 24:00 on July 30, 2025 (Beijing time)
Awards
Gold Award (one total): RMB 10,000 each
Silver Award (two total): RMB 5,000 each
Bronze Award (three total): RMB 3,000 each
Jury Award (five total): RMB 3,000 each
Public Award (20 total): RMB 3,000 each
Award certificates and prizes (pre-tax) will be given to posters that receive awards. Participation certificates will be provided for all posters selected for the exhibition. The Organizing Committee reserves the final right to explain all matters related to the awards, including the amounts and their distribution.
Entry Rules
1. Participation is free.
2. All posters must have been created after 2023 (AI-generated posters must be clearly labeled).
3. Two rounds of review will be conducted. The preliminary review will be completed by early August 2025. Shortlisted designers will be required to submit either digitally printed posters (the Organizing Committee is responsible for printing) or physical works upon receiving an email notification to participate in the final review. A panel of international judges will select the finalist and winner in mid-August.
4. A combination of online voting and expert review results will determine the Public Award.
Submission of works
1. Requirements for E-copy of Static posters: 700x1000px(Vertical version),JPG file format, 72dpi resolution, RGB mode, each uploaded picture is no bigger than 2 mega bytes.
2. Requirements for E-copy of Moving posters: the duration should be between 5 to 10 seconds,and the suggested ratio is 7:10(Vertical version),MP4 file format(h.264), the resolution is not less than 1080pixel, each uploaded picture is no bigger than 30 mega bytes. Alternatively a Youtube or Vimeo link can be provided.
3. All candidates must log in to the Nanjing International Biennial of Posters for Peace submission platform. Please follow the steps below:
(1)Scan the QR code to open the People’s Daily or People’s Daily English app. Click on the Nanjing International Biennial of Posters for Peace section or visit the official competition website (URL).
(2)Fill out the required information and upload your poster.
(3)After you successfully upload your work, the system will display “Upload Successful,” which means your registration is successful.
(4)You may repeat the above steps to modify your submission or upload multiple works.
4. Notes
(1)Please provide a valid email address to protect your rights and interests when signing up. The Organizing Committee will send important competition updates to your email, including notifications about shortlisting and winning.
(2)Submissions must be in Chinese or English. Other languages are not supported at the moment. Entries that do not comply with the rules and technical requirements will be disqualified.
Disclaimer
All entries must be created by the participants or participating teams. If any entry contains plagiarism of ideas or concepts or infringes copyright or intellectual property rights, the author(s) will be liable for the consequences.
The Organizing Committee of the Nanjing International Biennial of Posters for Peace will not be held responsible in such cases and reserves the right to disqualify the author.The Organizing Committee reserves the right to exhibit, publish, publicize, collect and display all exhibited entries on TV, the Internet, print or other broadcasting media.
The Organizing Committee will sign copyright agreements with the award-winning authors and hold all copyrights to the winning works, except for the right of attribution.
If there is any doubt about the rules, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to provide final interpretation.
